Gianfranco Meggiato was born in Venice in 1963, where he studied at art school; Istituto Statale d’Arte. Invited by the Municipality of Venice, he exhibited in two exhibitions in St. Mark’s Square at a very young age. In recent years, Gianfranco Meggiato has been invited to participate in the 54th and 55th Venice Biennales. Meggiato says his works are inspired by biomorphic tissue, a symbol of the human rough road in an attempt to find ourselves, the sphere at the center of the artwork and in each of us. All these experiences, mostly complicated and obscure as the internal fabric of his sculptures, are necessary for our inner growth.
