November 24, 2024 | Exhibition Philippe Timmermans 📍Laren
Exhibition Philippe Timmermans (24-11-2024 to 12-01-2025)
Philippe Timmermans(Belgium, 1957)
is a sculptor famous for his male sculptures of exceptional anatomical precision. He studied sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, where he laid the foundations for his artistic career.
For more than 30 years, Philippe worked with a mannequin manufacturer. During this period, he created three-dimensional prototypes and performed sculptural commissions for museums and others. In 2011, he decided to end this collaboration to focus entirely on his own artistic vision and work.
His sculptures are rooted in the classical sculptural tradition, but given a contemporary interpretation. Philippe places a strong emphasis on male sculpture in his work, masterfully capturing the anatomy and expression of the male body. Through his deep knowledge of the human body and his ability to render subtle emotions, he creates powerful and authentic images that are both technically impressive and emotionally resonant.
