Jenny Boot
Jenny Boot began her artistic journey as a painter, searching for a personal and authentic form of expression. Through various creative detours, she found her calling at the Fotoacademie in Amsterdam, where she graduated as a fashion photographer in 2012. Although her work was already being shown in prestigious cities such as Paris and New York during her senior year, her initial ambition in the fashion world was not in art.

That course changed in 2015, when she was noticed by the international art scene. Since then, her works have been shown at leading exhibitions worldwide and included in leading private and museum collections. Jenny Boot made a name for herself with her impressive portraits of young women, often cloaked in millstone collars and caught in a mysterious play of light and shadow. With her refined mastery of chiaroscuro, she evokes the atmosphere of the old masters, while at the same time her images remain modern and penetrating.

One of her most high-profile works, Black Girl with Pearl-a powerful, all-black reinterpretation of Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring-was acquired by the Vermeer Center in Delft for their permanent collection. A special recognition of her original and groundbreaking vision.

Boat’s monumental portraits and intimate dinner scenes are embraced by a growing audience of art lovers and collectors worldwide. Her work is an ode to feminine power, mystery and timeless beauty

📍These works are exhibited at our boutique gallery in Laren (NH)
