May 21-July 5, 2026 | Exhibition Isabelle Scheltjens 📍Oisterwijk
SOLO EXPOSITION ISABELLE SCHELTJENS
A first in black marble
We have proudly represented the art of Isabelle Scheltjens within our gallery for many years. Therefore, we are all the more pleased to present her latest creations: elegant, serene female sculptures in deep black, in which strength, refinement and stillness come together in a special way.
11 years ago Isabelle -originally a beautician-, began creating female portraits in an innovative self-developed form of glass art, in which carefully chosen pieces of glass form a portrait. Her portraits are loved by art lovers at home and abroad. Several years ago she ventured into sculpture in crushed glass, white Greek marble and bronze. Her sculptures are not abstract, but rather accessible, serene and loving in appearance. They combine a modern language of form with classical materials and contemporary technique. After the sparkling velvety white sculptures, we have Isabelle’s new first: black marble sculptures, deeply intense and beautifully veined. Works in which strength meets softness, and in which one sees the female form rendered in an almost timeless way.
